  • Parents & Counseling
Communication is essential for students to be successful. An effective education takes place where there are strong partnerships between parents/guardians and the child’s class teacher(s). This section was designed to provide families with a centralized spot for important and general information and resources. We encourage parents/guardians to get involved, volunteer, visit the school and ask questions.

At Ogden School District, we aim to develop our students intellectually in a happy and stimulating environment where they will experience a well balanced, but rigorous, academic program. Firm foundations established in K-12, prepare students for the future, and OSD is focused on studies that center on guiding questions that open up and develop thinking skills, subject knowledge, concepts and ideas while allowing each student to progress their potential at their own pace.

How Mount Ogden Jr. High is improving the land.

Mount Ogden made improvements in all targeted areas of the 2016-17 School Land Trust Plan, although not every specific target was reached for every goal. Improvements were made in all math courses, including course passing rates and CIA scores. Our Double Dose Math class helped to improve Secondary Math 1 scores and course pass rates. Science, Technology, Engineering, Fine Arts, and Math (STEAM) courses together also saw improvements. Science scores increased as well. Improvements in student success school-wide were aided by teachers refining collaboration practices via their content-based Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). Teachers in grade level/content areas met together at least once a week in order to examine and clarify standards, create common formative assessments to measure student proficiency on each standard and standard piece, examine assessment data, then together plan any reteaching necessary for students not yet proficient in the individual standards. PLC time was also a time for collaborative lesson planning. All of the areas targeted by the 2016-17 School Land Trust Plan (math, reading, writing, social studies, science, technology, engineering, and fine arts) were supported via content specific equipment, supplies, and resources, including additional Chromebooks.
