Today, Mr. Stevens’ students took on a Murder Mystery Escape Room challenge! Students worked together to solve clues by identifying figurative language, vocabulary in context, and key observational details to unlock the mystery.
The first team to finish had to take their thinking even further — answering questions about suspects’ motives and alibis to solve the case. 🕵️♂️
Then came the final twist: the winning group had to decide whether to share the candy reward with the class or keep it for themselves. Different classes made different choices, leading to some thoughtful conversations about decisions, fairness, and teamwork.
Learning, problem-solving, and a little mystery made for a great day in class! 💙🐏

🎶🏆 Incredible Achievement by a MOJH Musician! 🏆🎶
We’re excited to share some amazing news about one of our 9th graders, Ethan C.!
Ethan, who plays in Mr. Randy’s performance band, recently competed in the High School Region Solo & Ensemble Festival at Logan High School. Even though he is still in junior high, he competed under Ogden High School, since they are the sanctioned UHSAA program.
Ethan absolutely knocked it out of the park, earning a Superior rating on his trombone solo and officially qualifying for the High School State Solo & Ensemble Festival on April 25 at Woods Cross High School. 🎺✨
To put this into perspective — many high school seniors did not qualify for State, making Ethan’s accomplishment as a 9th grader truly outstanding. His dedication, practice, and passion for music are clearly paying off!
